Academic Intervention Program
Students are assessed using a web-based diagnostic assessment. Individual learning plans are developed and agreed upon by the parents/guardians. Classroom teachers also receive a copy of the plan. Areas of need are identified by the results.
Students are transported to the Centre on alternate days for 4 hours each week of instruction in reading and mathematics. Individualized instruction is implemented using a combination of e-Learning, or computer programs designed to fit the student. As well as one-to-one instruction utilizing an interactive white board.

The Directors assembled a team of educational, psychological and technological specialists. Using one-on-one attention, and innovative teaching methods catered to each individual student, KBC initiated a pilot program with St. Richards Primary School.
The objective is to improve learning and outcomes of a 139 low-performing students in Grade 2-5. By the end of the first year,
85% of the students are expected to improve at least one grade level in reading and math.
The pilot program started on October 2, 2007; and by January 15, 2008, benchmark test results indicate that that the program surpassed the targeted goal.
